The honest catch is that refacing only makes sense on boxes worth keeping, so every project starts with a free inspection, and when the boxes fail it we say so and price the alternative instead.
Why this valley refaces so well
The Antelope Valley’s housing booms left tens of thousands of kitchens with the same profile: boxes built in the era when plywood construction was standard, layouts that still make sense and doors that scream their decade. Those are ideal refacing candidates. The dry climate helps too, because boxes that never lived through humid summers stay square and glue joints stay tight far longer than the national average kitchen.
Rosamond’s 2000s tracts are the extreme case: twenty-year-old kitchens with modern-sized sound boxes wearing the cheapest doors the builder could buy. Those reface at the friendly end of the range and come out looking like a full remodel. The older 1970s kitchens of Littlerock and Pearblossom need the inspection more, since particleboard-era boxes and long-ago sink leaks fail candidates honestly.

Refacing questions, answered
How do I know if my cabinets are good candidates for refacing?
The boxes decide it. Square frames, solid shelf mounts and a sink base that never rotted make a great candidate, which describes most 1980s through 2000s tract kitchens up here. We open doors, rock the frames and check the sink cabinet floor before recommending anything, and the inspection costs nothing.
What exactly gets replaced in a refacing job?
Everything you see and touch: new doors, new drawer fronts, matching veneer over every exposed frame and end panel, new hinges and new pulls. Drawer boxes and slides upgrade optionally. When it is done the kitchen reads new, because every visible surface is.
How long does refacing take compared to new cabinets?
About two to four weeks from measurement to finished, with only three to five working days in your kitchen. There is no demo of the boxes, no counter removal in most cases and no drywall surprises, which is why the disruption stays small.
Can I change the door style and color completely?
Yes, that is the point. Golden oak raised panels become painted shaker, flat modern slabs or stained alder, and nobody can tell the boxes were born in 1992. Adding drawer banks or a rollout while we are in there is common and priced per piece.
